Rooms Home

Please look at photos of the existing rooms, to use as a guideline to the style and decor of my place. I will periodically update the pictures on this page.

outside view of new building

This is the new building, which is obviously currently under construction. The rooms will be available for rent by Memorial Day weekend, 2013. These rooms will be the finest on site, king and queen sized platform beds, spacious rooms and bathrooms, private entrys, and a full list of amenities. Some of the things included are free WIFI, flat screen tvs with DVD players, coffee makers, and convenient electronic charging stations. Holland Inn is pleased to offer a Handicap accessible room in this new building too! As with all rooms at the Inn, all of them only sleep two people.

There will be four guest rooms here, each with its own private exterior entrance. The second floor rooms will be accessed by an exterior deck that will wrap around the building on the driveway side. There are no common areas in this building, which allows for more spacious and comfortable guest rooms. The two rooms on the west end, shown here, will have significant outside seating areas where one can enjoy the sunset over Bar Harbor.

Sieur de Monts

The Nature Center here includes exhibits about Acadia's protective efforts. The Wild Gardens of Acadia is here, which is a living guide to Acadia's plants and habitats. Lastly, the original (smaller) Abbe Museum is here, which has one of the finest collections of Indian artifacts in the state. And thanks to the new Pathways To The Park initiative, you can now take a long, flat walk from downtown to Sieur de Monts, via the Great Meadow Loop.

The is the first time we can offer a Handicap accessible room. Please call for info about other handicap access on site. This room is on the first floor, closest to the main house of the inn.

This room has a king sized platform bed and private handicap bathroom with shower, no tub. There will be carpeted floors in this room. Some of the amenities include free WIFI, flat screen tv with DVD players, coffee makers, and a convenient electronic charging station.

Parkman

pemetic outside view of new building

Parkman Mountain sticks out of the western side of Sargeant Mountain. The trail has the most varied terrain in this area and there is a nice loop including Bald Peak, which avoids some of the steeper descents. Incredible views in all directions if you take this path.

This room is on the first floor, facing South and West, looking out the sliding door entry to the Quietside building and the gardens in between. There is a large, semi private seating area outside of the doors' entrance, which can offer a nice sunset.

The room will have a queen sized platform bed, carpeted floors and a private full bath. Some amenities include free WIFI, flat screen tv with DVD players, coffee makers, and a convenient electronic charging station.

Cadillac

Cadillac Mountain has a huge variety of trails on, around and up to it, including a road for cars. My favorite hike is to start [take the free bus] at the North Ridge Trail, taking it to the top, then descending on the South Ridge Trail. This is a great, scenic, one way trip of about 3 1/2 hours. In July and August, you should keep your eyes open for lowbush blueberries around the exposed rock ledges.

This bright, second story room, which is nearest to the existing building, is accessed by a semi private staircase and expansive deck. This is the largest room in the house. It is carpeted, and has a king sized platform bed and private full bath. Some amenities include free WIFI, flat screen tv with DVD players, coffee maker, and a convenient electronic charging station.

2013 Rates:
5/24 - 6/27 - $ 135
6/28 - 8/31 - $ 175

 Flying Mountain

fly

The Flying Mountain trail is my favorite. The hike provides the best views for the least effort, however, it rates as moderate. You can hike to neighboring peaks to make a day of it, or you can do a quick one hour loop. Views include Valley Cove and those of the eastern side of the island, Northeast Harbor, looking up Somes Sound, and also out across the Cranberry Islands

The room is on the second floor facing due West for sunset over Bar Harbor. The expansive deck is the way to get here, then enjoy your own private seating area outside, looking across to the Quietside house(as shown here) and over the path and gardens. In the distance on the left is the corner of Kebo Mountain.

This room will have carpet, a queen sized platform bed, and a private full bath. Some amenities include free WIFI, flat screen tv with DVD players, coffee maker, and a convenient electronic charging station.

2013 Rates:
5/24 - 6/27 - $ 135
6/28 - 8/31 - $ 175
